My mother and I never thought the breathtakingly human Belinda Utsinger, my youthful partner in crime, could ever need a collection of wigs. Her terrific long black hair was synonymous with her mystique. Have you seen her lately? She remains celebrated because of her style. Only a handful of souls know she lives confidently wearing lace front wigs. They work well.
As blossoming ladies in the hill country, we once stole the spotlights to every dance. In our twenties her women’s hair loss started acting up and she became nearly bald. I recommended a few invisible lace wigs. Oh well, it didn’t matter much. The incredible woman proudly never let you forget about her bald-headed look.
At her fiance’s baseball championship, we ate nuts until a guy on other team purposefully flung the sphere (or whatever you call it) into the stands. She dove for the ball and her cute little hat fell off, unveiling her bald head. Undisturbed, she walked over and delivered it back to the field. She’s that kind of girl.
That said, nobody is perfect. Once we got together for a stroll to the art gallery, the day she sat me down and confided that she opts to do without hair out of bitterness. She could never think about women’s wigs, despite the fact that she would wear them. And who would have thought miss invincible changed the subject and requested that I drop it. She really needed help.
I thought about it all night. The next morning, I called about getting her a new wig. After a long deliberation we came to the perfect solution: we’ll think of wigs as fashion, and we love fashion. So I’m getting one too!
Not sure who was more bewildered by how natural they looked. I never knew that human hair wigs could be very appealing for people, even superstars. These synthetic wigs complimented her natural beauty. I pieced together an entirely modern ensemble around our wigs. We’re inseparable, forever and always. Recently she gave me a photo of us in our wigs and thanked me for giving her back her hair, and disclosed that it fosters a real positive image in her life. It’s a relief to realize my best friend live a happier existence. And she’s still got the attitude.
